To guarantee food supplies in Guizhou province, the general office of the provincial government issued guidance that Guizhou's sown area of grain should amount to over 3 million hectares.
Meanwhile, the gross grain output should be more than 11.5 million tons, so it can guarantee that the grain reserve cannot be less than 15 days' grain consumption of people in Guiyang city.
With rapid economic development, Guizhou needs to gradually increase its grain reserves. During the 12th Five-Year Plan, Guizhou's total grain reserves should reach 1.1 million tons, and the provincial reserves should reach over 700,000 tons, according to the general office of the provincial government.
To meet to the requirement, Guizhou province will build barns for 500,000 tons of grain, oil tanks for 100,000 tons of oil and promote the one-million-farmer's scientific reservation project.
