The Guiyang Ecology Committee has recently confirmed that three counties of Guiyang, capital city of Guizhou province – namely, Niuchang county in Baiyun district, Pianpo county in Wudang district and Hefeng county in Kaiyang district have won the title of national ecology county.
The national ecological county list is released in the Ministry of Environmental Protection's No 44 Report on National Ecological Counties. The report investigates all the counties across China based on as many as 15 evaluation indexes, including drinking water sources and quality, the hygiene level of local drinking water, surface water quality, air quality, sound environment quality and wastewater treatment capabilities and publishes the national ecology counties list for the year 2012 to 2013.
