Thirteen workers were trapped after a railway tunnel collapsed in southwest China's Guizhou Province at Sunday night, the result of preliminary check by local government reveled.
The accident happened at around 8 pm in Shiqian county where is famous for hot springs, and the thirteen workers were trapped about 600 meters away from the tunnel’s exit.
The tunnel was on a highway linking the hinterland and north-eastern region of Guizhou province.
Local safety regulation officers, police and medics have arrived, and excavators have been sent to rescue the trapped by adopting excavators and other large machinery.
Authorities had no details about the trapped workers, and the cause of the accident was still under investigation.
