Guiyang has been included on the list of "Broadband China" demonstration cities, according to a joint announcement by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the National Development and Reform Commission in October.
According to the strategy of "Broadband China" from the Sate Council, broadband has become a national strategic public infrastructure.
The "Broadband China" strategy was initiated by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the National Development and Reform Commission early this year. It aims to promote local broadband development.
Thirty-nine cities made the "Broadband China" demonstration city list, including Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai and Guiyang.
According to the Communications Administration of Guizhou Province, the penetration rate of 3G/LTE mobile phones in Guiyang will reach 100 percent by the end of 2016.
