According to a strategic cooperation framework agreement signed by the Guiyang municipal government and 21Vianet Group, a joint venture will be founded to build a cloud computing center and big data bus project, which will provide a data network covering the whole city's infrastructure.
This means that Guiyang, capital city of Guizhou province, will be the first city that has a big data infrastructure covering the whole city and can supply services to enterprises and locals all over the world, one of the insiders said.
The action will boost the promotion of informatization infrastructure construction and even push the whole province to build a big data network and data center, which will supply big data services and free public Wi-Fi services.
In addition, in order to ensure the big data industry develops in a healthy way, an industry chain will be brought into the project, including the establishment of a big data fund with the sum of 3 billion yuan ($500 million).
