The Truck Alliance, of the city of Guiyang, capital of Guizhou province, is typical of the province's investment and capital attraction in the big data industry, with growing numbers of young people deciding to set up shop in Guiyang with its pleasant climate and lower costs and more development prospect and creativity than in coastal cities.
Truck Alliance's assistant GM, Zhang Ying, expresses his expectations by saying, "Truck Alliance is attracted by Guiyang's niche advantage, favorable policies and big data industry. And big data is the key to Truck Alliance's development and for better business."
In commenting on this, Chen Gang, the city's Party secretary, noted,"We have tremendous faith and will in the future of Guiyang," then added that his faith is in big data, innovation and the suitable business environment that Guiyang offers.
To prove its worth, Guiyang will hold an International Big Data Expo 2015, on May 26, with celebrities and politicians from around the world, such as Jack Ma, founder and executive chairman of the Alibaba Group, and Terry Gou, founder and chairman of Foxconn, expected to attend. And several hundred famous companies, such as Microsoft and Google have said they will take part, along with experts and entrepreneurs who have been asked to share their ideas.
The vice-mayor of Guiyang adds his own thoughts with,"Strengthening policy support for business start-ups and to providing professional services for entrepreneurs are what we're doing, and we've built China's first global big data exchange center and first public block data site."
Wang Wei, CEO of the Longmaster information and Technology Co, says,"It makes no sense to put up with the high rents and pollution of big cities if you can connect with the world with just a tiny cable and a router," then concludes by noting that there is a big gap between Guiyang and the coastal cities in economic and technological development, but its secure investment environment, policy support and improved transportation and Internet are bringing in companies and talent.
