The acting governor of Guizhou, Sun Zhigang, gave a review of their technological achievements during the period of the 12th Five-year Plan (2011-2015), then announced plans to improve technology and bring related output to 500 billion yuan ($76 billion) by 2020, at the 12th Guizhou People's Congress's 4th session.
Sun said they now have built five national technological innovation sites and 59 academic worksites over the past five years, contributing more than 250 billion yuan to technological development and that, over the next five years, the province will have major science and technology projects and preferential policies for talented personnel to encourage enterprises and scientific research institutes to innovate more.
