Car-hailing app Didi Chuxing looking to forge cooperation deals with Guiyang's cloud computing industry, according to the company's founder and CEO Cheng Wei. Cheng met with Guizhou government officials on May 23 ahead of the Guiyang International Big Data Expo 2016.
Cheng, who considers Guiyang to be at the forefront of cloud computing development, said the company is accumulating data on people's travelling habits. It is hoped the data will provide references for an intelligent transportation engine to help improve the efficiency of urban transportation.
Since its founding in 2012, Didi has established a platform providing intelligent transportation services and linking approximately 300 million clients and more than 14 million drivers. Of the company's 5,000-plus employees, half are engineers.
Representatives from the company will attend the Guiyang International Big Data Expo 2016 from May 26-29. The event exhibits the world's latest developments of cutting-edge big data-based technologies, products and solutions. The annual event attracts more than 2,000 experts and 50,000 participants.
