The 2016 National Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation Week kicked off around the country this week, including a session in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province to be held from Oct 12 to 18.
Mu Degui, deputy director of Guizhou province, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote address.
According to Mu, in recent years Guizhou's high-tech industry has grown at an average of 20 percent per year. He added that the provincial government will construct a platform where enterprises, universities and research institutions can cooperate and innovate.
A series of activities including a symposium on virtual reality technology and a creative products bazaar will be held during the week.
The second National Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation Week rolled out in cities across China on Oct 12, with the latest and cutting-edge products on display. Shenzhen in South China's Guangdong province serves as the main venue of this year's event.
