Have you ever wondered where your wooden chopsticks come from? There’s a good chance they were made from bamboo produced in Chishui, Guizhou. The city has a forest coverage rate of 81 percent and has become the biggest production area of bamboo wood in Southwest China.
The city is located adjacent to Sichuan province and Chongqing municipality. It decided to improve its ecological environment in 1911 and adopted a series of measures such as returning farm land to forest and closing hillsides to facilitate afforestation.
