Gaotai Dixi, a local folk opera style from Guizhou province, is widely popular in the city of Anshun.

Performers wearing masks stage the opera atop 48 tables stacked in five layers in shape of pyramid, sometimes jumping down to sing and dance. Gaotai Dixi opera mainly recounts wartime stories of ancient times.

Gaotai Dixi is generally performed in an open area with each opera featuring around 40 performers.
