Wuchuan Gelao and Miao autonomous county held a ceremony to celebrate its 30th anniversary for its establishment on Nov 5, with more than 20,000 people in attendance.

Located in Zunyi city in Southwest China's Guizhou province, the county boasts 1,400 years of history featuring the unique and splendid cultures of Gelao ethnic group.
There are 55 items listed among the provincial and municipal intangible cultural heritages, including lion dance on high stages, Gelao Opera and traditional techniques to make special vinegar.
Approved by the State Council, the county was established in 1987. It has made big progress after 30 years' hard work for the local government.
Statistics shows that the GDP had increased almost 100 times during the past three decades, from the total amount of 59.64 million yuan ($8.77 million) in 1986 to 5.9 billion yuan in 2016.
Yang Youming, Party secretary of the county said at the ceremony that the county government will continue to boost the development of the county to create better lives for its people.
