After more than two years of construction, Guian Railway Station in Guian New Area, Southwest China's Guizhou province is expected to be completed in October, according to China Railway Construction Engineering Group on Aug 28.
As the second largest high-speed railway station in the province, the station is a huge transportation hub for high-speed train, fast train, inter-city bus, taxi, long-distance bus and other passenger vehicles.
At present, the ticket hall, waiting hall, entrance and exit of the station have been completed. Construction workers are carrying out the final decoration work according to the standard.
The station will then receive equipment and facilities commissioning from the China Railway Chengdu Group Co Ltd before getting the operating instruction from China Railway Corporation.
Upon opening to the public, Guian Railway Station will be the fifth one in Guiyang city following the Guiyang Railway Station for general trains, and the stations of Guiyang North, Guiyang East and Long Dongbao for high-speed rail.
Located in Huchao town of the new area, the Guian station is only about 30 kilometers away from the Guiyang North Railway Station, promoting the development of an economic circle connecting Guizhou and its neighboring places.
Covering an area of 60,580 square meters and boasting an investestment of 1.23 billion yuan ($180 million), the station will have four platforms with eight railway lines for its first phase. It is expected that the station will serve 54 million passengers a year.
