The value of the big data industry in Guian New Area, Southwest China's Guizhou province has reached 17.91 billion yuan ($2.63 billion yuan), thanks to the staggering increase in output in the area's electronic information park during the first half of this year.
From January to June, the park's output was valued at 11.29 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 200 percent. Its software and information service revenue hit 1.33 billion yuan, an increase of 269.64 percent year-on-year. Its telecommunication revenue reached 102 million yuan, an increase of 64.52 percent, and its e-commerce trade was valued at 5.19 billion yuan.
Guian has always focused on economic advancement and improvement of core competitiveness through big data, which has helped the area develop a high-quality industrial ecosystem.
As of today, a total of 61,500 servers have been stationed in the area for the offices of China's top three operators and the Foxconn database, and 10,650 racks have been signed for use.
In recent years, Guian has become home to a series of national demonstration projects, including the Chinese Academy of Sciences Biomedical Big Data Center, FAST Big Data Center, and Supercomputing Center.
In January, the China Telecom (Guian) Cloud Computing Guizhou Information Park, China Unicom Guian Cloud Database, and the Guian-based China Mobile (Guizhou) Database were listed among the 49 national green databases by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, National Government Offices Administration, and National Energy Administration.
