Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, signed a strategic cooperation agreement with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) on Dec 10 to cooperate on the economic development of the city.
As one of the big four global accounting companies, PwC provides assurance, advisory and tax services to companies and governments from all over the world. It serves clients in 158 countries and regions, including a number of Fortune 500 companies.
According to the agreement, PwC will offer professional service teams and resources to promote Guiyang's development in cross-border equity investment, cross-border e-commerce, company tax management, reform of State-owned companies and industrial park construction.
The two parties will also cooperate in key industries such as big data, big health and all-for-one tourism. Guiyang will utilize the professional services provided by PwC to internationalize and bring more foreign capital to the city.
With an annual business income exceeding $40 billion, PwC has been the top accounting firm in China in terms of revenue for the past 15 years. It was also named one of world's most powerful brands by Brand Finance, a branded business valuation consultancy based in London.
Known for its beautiful natural environment, Guiyang aims to become a world-famous tourist city and seek out more opportunities brought about by the Belt and Road Initiative.
