According to the Anshun urban and rural planning bureau, Anshun city, Southwest China's Guizhou province, plans to build a rail line for tourism purposes starting at Jiuzhou county and ending at Langtang county, and stopping at Langtang and the wetland park, with a total length of 2.8 kilometers and input of 120 million yuan ($19.63 million).
The new rail line is expected to complete by the end of next year.
An official of the Anshun urban and rural planning bureau said, "The scenery will be very beautiful alongside the new rail line, as we plan to develop sightseeing agriculture along the rail line."
Currently the plan is still under approval procedures, and construction will start right away once the procedure is complete. The opening of the rail line means a lot for Tunpu culture, as the line's initial station, Jiuzhou, is a central area of Tunpu culture.
Tunpu culture has a history of more than 600 years, and the Tunpu scenic area has attracted many tourists.
Based on the strategy of Guizhou Tourism Group, it plans to build the big Tunpu area, covering Qiyanqiao county, Daxiqiao county, Jiuzhou county, Liuguan town and Pingba county.
The new rail line can link all the places of the big Tunpu area, which can surely promote the development of Tunpu culture.
The planned tourism rail line is the first trial. It will build tourism rail lines in the near future, covering Huangguoshu Waterfall and Dragon Palace, and connect with rail transit networks.
The idea of the tourism rail line comes from tourism rail lines in Switzerland, and after completion, it will achieve the same effect.
