Anshun achieves tourism progress in 2014

According to the Anshun tourism bureau, from January to October, Anshun welcomed 30.68 million tourists, a year-on-year increase of 36.88 percent, and realized tourism revenue of 29.89 billion yuan ($4.86 billion), a year-on-year increase of 38.33 percent.

From January to October, the Anshun municipal government invested a total of 3.3 billion yuan into the construction and expansion of scenic areas. Also, 17 agreements on tourism cooperation have been signed, worth 5.4 billion yuan.

According to an official of the Anshun tourism bureau, the tourism industry in Anshun for 2014 has shown a trend of steady growth. It is expected that by the end of 2014, the total number of tourists will reach 34.88 million, realizing total tourism revenue of 33.6 billion yuan.

Looking back at 2014, many positive actions were taken to develop the tourism industry in Anshun, including upgrading and reconstruction of the Huangguoshu scenic area, setting-up an intelligent tourism e-platform and forums, and roundtables for sharing tourism industry experiences.
