Anshun is located on the Yungui Plateau, where there are many mountains.

The most notable stone carving art in Anshunis those one found in the Confucian Temple, where you can find a rich heritage of fine stone carvings of the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties.

Anshun stone carving art can been found not only in temples, but also in residential homes. They show themselves in stone tables, stone piers, fish tanks and flower beds.
