"Without the development of the private economy, Anshun's development cannot be put forward," NPC deputy and Party secretary of Anshun, said Zhou Jiankun at the two sessions held in Beijing on March 9.

According to Zhou, the development of the private economy in Anshun will continue to be promoted; but challenges remain.
"The private economy has developed rapidly since the establishment of the experimental zone, accounting for 63 percent of Anshun's GDP and taking the first place in comparison to other regions in Guizhou," said Zhou.
There are over 100,000 economic entities in Anshun, 90 percent of which are privately owned.
"The well-developed private economy has laid a solid foundation for Anshun's next development stage which will see the private economy taking priority in Anshun's economic development," said Zhou.
Despite the development growth of the private economy in Guizhou in recent years, many barriers still remain, such as lack of finance, labor shortages and access issues.
"It takes time and effort to reach a common understanding on the methods of policy implementation issued by the central government," said Zhou.

Speaking of the barriers of entry for news business, especially for returning rural migrant workers, Zhou said that to accommodate the "new normal" of returning workers, "platforms should be built to solve the difficulties of business start-ups and employment."
Zhou also called for the construction of favorable living and working environments in Anshun and highlighted the use of "special teams" organized to serve enterprises.
"Environment and service are the essence to settling the problems faced in start-ups," said Zhou.
