Hainan Airlines plans $1.2 billion share sale

Hainan Airlines Co, controlled by the investment arm of the Hainan provincial government, plans to raise as much as 8 billion yuan ($1.2 billion) in a private share placement partly to help pay bank loans.

Banana-eating campaign around China

Poor weather and food-safety rumors are responsible for cool sales for Hainan banana growers, with nearly 450,000 tons of bananas yet to be sold as of the end of June, according to the provincial agriculture department.
