The south-eastern city of Hangzhou is celebrating its 20th anniversary since twinning with the Japanese city of Fukui.

The mayor of Hangzhou Cai Qi and 60 other representatives were joined by a delegation of 160 from Fukui including the mayor Higashimura Shinichi who also attended the ceremony.

In the past 20 years, as a result of collaborative effort, extensive cooperation has been taking place between Hangzhou and Fukui on economic development and cultural exchange. In the ceremony, 14 representatives from Fukui delegation were awarded for their distinguished contribution made to enhance the relationship between the two cities.
