North China’s Hebei province opened two new expressways on Nov 8, which expanded the province’s total paved highway miles to 3,736 kilometers.
The new 144-kilometer Chengde to Tangshan expressway is expected to reduce travel times from the northern Hebei province city of Chengde to Tangshan and neighboring Tianjin.
.The other 118-kilometer highway reaches from Chengde to Chaoyang. With a designed speed of 100 kilometers per hour, this new expressway is expected become the second major route from North China to Northeast China.
