At the Yantai International Wine Festival held recently, the Zhangjiakou Municipal Government leading a delegation to the festival sent an invitation to domestic wine giant Zhangyu, inviting them to set up a base in Zhangjiakou.

Zhangjiakou Municipal Government officials explained that attracting famous enterprises within the domestic wine industry to the area is done so not only with the aim of promoting investment but is also being pursued as a way of developing local industries and enhancing local competitive strength.

The reporter has learnt that at Qinhuangdao Wine International Festivals held previously , the local government invited more than 1000 famous enterprises and figures within domestic and foreign wine industries to observe the local market and wine grape planting bases, actively presenting domestic and foreign enterprises with the advantages the local area has to offer for wine industry development .

Following the increasing presence of foreign wines in Chinese market, not only has the wine industry in Hebei accelerated development, but the whole national wine industry has also quickened its pace in an attempt to “check” the development momentum of foreign wine and maintain it’s position as industry leaders.

“If the enterprises in Hebei and other provinces don’t take action, the impact of imported wine to Chinese market will become a real concern,” said Chairman Tan of Hebei General Chamber of Commerce.
