Hebei has abundant livestock resources with more than 500 breed including China Red Cattle, the Zhangbei horse, the long-tailed chicken, the Yangyuan donkey, the Wu’an goat and the Shenxian pig. They are elite breeders with high birth rates.

The fruit industry in Hebei has many top varieties such as ahernaria, the Changli grape, Cangzhou ziziphus jujube, the Botou pear, Mancheng persimmons, the Shunping apple and the Shanhaiguan cherry. Well known at home and abroad, they have become the new growth points in Hebei’s agriculture industry.

The province also has broad areas of sea, lakes and beaches. Marine products include ribbonfish, yellow croaker, barracuda, flatfish, pomfret and cuttlefish.

Freshwater products include grass carp, chub, bighead, crucian carp, toad and crab.
