The Caofeidian Port Coal Inventory Base, the first large-scale coal inventory base in the country, begins construction on August 31 in Hebe’s Kailuan city. Officials expect the yearly coal turnover of the base to reach 50 million tons.
The coal inventory base, located in the west of the Caofeidian Port, covers a total area of 1,481 hectares and costs 2.71 billion yuan.
Since China is a big coal production and consumption country, and coal accounts for more than 70% of the nation’s energy resources, the development of a coal inventory base is a must for a complete national reserve system.
The finished coal inventory base can not only contribute to the readjustment of coal products, but also offer a strong inventory capacity, which will give a great boost to the development of the national energy security strategies.
