In an energy-saving evaluation of all Chinese provinces and cities for 2011, done by the National Development and Reform Commission and the State Council in 2012, Hebei province ranked among the Top 10. All those in the top 10 exceeded the country’s annual target, Hebei Economic Daily reported on Jan 7.
The 2011 goal for energy-consumption reduction per unit of GDP for Hebei province was 3.36 percent. Hebei hit 3.39 percent, exceeding the original task, accounting for 20.17 percent of the country’s total energy-saving task for the 12th Five-year Plan (2011-16).
The other nine areas are the cities of Beijing, Tianjin, and Shanghai and the provinces of Shanxi, Shandong, He’nan, Hubei, Sichuan, and Guizhou. |
