The city of Shijiazhuang will have larger rainfall during this year's flood season compared to previous years, which may bring more geographic disasters or water logging problems, the city’s meteorological department said.
Shijiazhuang Meteorological Bureau – which recently released their forecast for July to August, the flood period of the city- said that the total average rainfall during these three months will be between about 350 to 380 millimeters.
The large rainfall may occur once or twice a month, which means that the city will be more likely to experience flooding, geographic disasters and water logging.
In June, residents will need to take precautions against severe convective weather, including hail, thunderstorm and torrential rains. In July, they may have a relatively wet and cool month.
Flood prevention departments have conducted a thorough survey of facilities - 82 automatic rainfall monitoring stations, 12 hydrological sites and 313 automatic mountain flood monitoring stations – so as to prepare for the flood period, especially for the peak days, which will fall between July 20 and August 10,
These stations will provide updates on rainfalls and release warnings concerning any potential disasters facing the city. |
