After success of Internet Plus, Longmen Grottoes to implement big data

Longmen Grottoes, the first "Internet Plus" smart scenic area in the country attended the Henan "Internet Plus" Opening and Cooperation Conference held in Zhengzhou, Henan province on Nov 18.
As a successful case for its smart tourism program, the scenic area situated in Luoyang shared its experience in the conference and received wide praises.
The Longmen will further cooperate with Tencent Holdings Ltd, one of the country's leading Internet service providers to boost famous tourist site's smart tourism development based on big data. So far the first two phases of the Internet Plus Longmen program have been completed, making it the first scenic area in the country to offer WeChat payment for all services.
For the next step, the focus will be on big data analysis using the Internet platform to facilitate tourism promotion and services, according to Yu Ying, head of Longmen Grottoes scenic area management committee.
Zhang Zhiqiang, deputy director of the Longmen Grottoes management committee, said that the scenic area is currently expanding its northwestern service area and when completed, the reception capacity of the site will be greatly upgraded. It is expected to receive 10 million tourists every year, much higher than the current number of 3 million, he added.
The Henan "Internet Plus" Opening and Cooperation Conference 2015 was hosted by Henan provincial government, and jointly organized by Tencent company and Henan Provincial Development and Reform Commission.
