Experts from the Henan Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-rural Development, as well as the provincial development and reform commission, named Nanyang a water conservation city after their inspection tour on Dec 25 and 26.
For two days, experts checked water usage data in public places including State-owned companies, enterprises and construction sites; listened to reports on water conservation situations in the city; and reached a consensus that the city has met the standards of a water conservation city in the province.
Zhang Shengqi, vice-mayor of Nanyang, said the city will further strengthen water conservation efforts, promote sustainable utilization of water resources and strive to be a national water conservation city.
