The Wolong District Women's Federation in Nanyang, Henan province, organized activities on March 1 to publicize the new anti-domestic violence law.
The activities were aimed at preventing domestic violence, protecting legal interests of family members and preserving equal, harmonious and civilized family relationships so as to facilitate social stability.
More than 20 villages, towns and local organizations participated and placed messages on 40 publicity boards and information desks. The organizer also invited professional legal workers from courts, procuratorates and judicial bureaus to answer questions from the crowd.
More than 2,000 leaflets were handed out to local residents, in the hope of improving family communication and creating awareness about legal rights.
