Wuduo Mountain selected as provincial environmental education base

The Wuduo Mountain Scenic Spot was selected among the second group of Henan Provincial Environment Education Bases on June 12, according to the Nanyang environmental protection agency.

It was the first provincial-level honor of a scenic spot in Nanyang since the city started to hold a series of activities for green ecology, constructing six provincial and 137 municipal green schools, four provincial and five municipal green enterprises, one provincial and 36 municipal green communities as well as one provincial and four municipal environmental-education bases.

According to staff at the agency, those selected as Henan Provincial Environment Education Bases are museums, science & technology museums, scenic spots, nature reserves, monitoring stations, sewage treatment plants, as well as factories and mines, all with the function of environmental education. The bases are to receive no less than 10,000 visitors every year via making appointment to learn more about the environment.
