The Zhengzhou-Xixia, Shangqiu-Nanyang and Ruzhou-Tanghe expressways in Nanyang province, are to be extended in the near future, linking remote areas with surrounding cities, accroding to government officials' announcement at a provincial transportation and poverty-relief meeting held on July 15.
The project will span 53 counties across the province that fall under national or provincial poverty-relief measures, as well as six ex-revolutionary bases which receive preferential policies and 6,492 provincial impoverished villages.
The extension of the road network is expected to be complete by 2019, allowing for the implementation of bus routes and postal services.
