Online platform makes public service easier

Nanyang municipal public security bureau announced its latest achievements in Internet Plus public services at a press conference held on Jan 20.

The bureau opened its Internet Plus Public Service Platform in November 2015. Based on internet application gateways such as the bureau's portal website and mobile app, the platform offers online services in traffic management, household registration, exit and entry, public security and fire protection.

So far 289 service items are available and more than 1.2 million users (traffic management platform users excluded) have registered. The traffic management platform has more than 800,000 registered users and has handled some 2 million business matters. A total of 35 million yuan ($5.1 million) in public service costs have been saved.

For the next step, the bureau said it plans to expand its online service range to meet increasing public demands.
