A symposium was held in Nanyang, Henan province, on July 10 to promote military-civilian integration in the region.
Business representatives from military enterprises and local officials from Municipal Development & Reform Commission and Municipal Finance Bureau discussed how to better integrate across a range of areas.
The areas include infrastructure, national defense-related sci-tech industry, weapon and equipment procurement, talent cultivation, socialization of the support system for the military, as well as the mobilization for national defense.
Liu Zhaorui, chairman of the Nanyang CPPCC, pointed out that the military-civilian integration is not only a national development strategy, but also an unprecedented developmental opportunity for Nanyang, as there are plenty of military enterprises located in the city.
A new impetus will be injected to traditional military enterprises with military technologies applied to civilian use, or civilian investors participating in the military industries, noted Liu, who also extended hopes that Nanyang will seize the opportunity and roll out a series of policies to support the integration.
Recently, Xixia county in Nanyang established a military-civilian integration service center to bring private enterprises and military enterprises closer. Once the products of those private enterprises are brought into production, the center will send a message to military enterprises so that they can be better informed and buy the products.
