Officials gathered for the third session of the 9th Pingdingshan People’s Congress from Jan 7 to 13 at the Conference Center, Pingdingshan, Henan Province.

At the opening session, Mayor Chen Jiansheng delivered a report on the government’s work during the 11th Five-Year Plan, wrapping up the work of 2010 and making projections for 2011.

Chen Jiansheng was re-elected mayor of Pingdingshan, and Wang Jingzhong was elected a member of the Standing Committee of the 9th Pingdingshan People’s Congress. Participants discussed and approved the implementation report on economic and social plans for 2010. They also approved the economic and financial plans and other government resolutions for the 12th Five-Year-Plan (2010-2015).
