Jiaxian county officials want to catapult its industry park into the top ranks of Henan province industrial clusters, hoping to become one of the top 30 parks by the end of this year.

The industry park of Jiaxian county covers an area of five square kilometers, with 18 enterprises already established and 16 under construction. Jiaxian, which ranked No 72 among Henan’s 180 industry parks last year, wants to attract 5.45 billion yuan in investments this year to help its park reach the Top 30 mark.

The Jiaxian county industry park last year dubbed “the demonstration industry park of Henan” and also named “one of the Top 10 fastest-growing industry parks” by the Henan government.

Zheng Li, the Party’s secretary for Jiaxian county, this year has proposed enhancing development of leading industries such as mechanical manufacturing and medical industry logistics in the park.

Zheng also has proposed increasing the number of industrial construction, infrastructure and county beautification projects. Top priories will include the construction of a 10-kilometer gas pipeline, the construction of 15 kilometers of new roads and construction of 120,000 square meters of new industrial plants.

In addition, the county will take measures to resolve capital fundraising challenges and earmark 500 million yuan to support infrastructure construction at the park.
