On Sept 13, a team of seven experts on folk literature and art, arrived at Pingdingshan to inspect the feasibility of the establishment of China Avalokitesvara Culture Research Center, applied by Pingdingshan city.

The experts listened to the application report, made field inspections of Xiangshan Temple, Baique Temple, Sanhuanggu Tomb site, and talked with folk culture staff to better understand the Avalokitesvara Culture in the city.

The expert argumentation meeting for applying China’s Home of Avalokitesvara Culture was held in the afternoon of Sept 14.

Pingdingshan Xiangshan Temple as the birthplace of Avalokitesvara culture since the Indian Buddhism was introduced to China. Pingdingshan Avalokitesvara culture enjoyed great popularity among the citizens.
