On Nov 3, an exhibition was held at the Ruzhou theatre square, displaying rare stones and jade articles from over 100 handiwork companies from Shandong, Liaoning, Jiangsu and Henan provinces. They put tens of thousands of items on display, of various sizes and unusual shapes, to attract numerous local residents.
With the improvement of peoples' living conditions, rare stone collections have become a new favorite following antiques, scripts and paintings. An exquisite Maitreya Buddha sculpture, made of Xiuyan jade from Liaoning province, amazed the local residents for the miraculous modeling.
According to Jiang Houchen, an official of Shandong Penglai Rare Stone Association, the exhibition will last until Nov 16. It will exhibit rare stones, jade articles and handiwork with high collection values, including Xiuyan jade of Liaoning province, emerald of Myanmar, Dushan jade of Nanyang, East Sea crystal of Jiangsu province, and Taishan Mountain jade of Shandong province. The tens of thousands of exhibited articles are produced and marked all by the exhibitors, with superior quality and reasonable prices. It is a good opportunity for Ruzhou residents and collection fans to pick out articles.
