Ceramics College sets up internship base in Ruzhou

Jingdezhen Ceramics College held a ceremony at Jinding Business Hotel to mark the establishment of an internship base in Ruzhou city on Aug 25. Defeng Arts and Crafts Co. Ltd., located in Hepo village, Qiling township, became the internship base of Jingdezhen Ceramics College in Ruzhou city.

Ning Gang, president of the Art Design School of Jingdezhen Ceramics College, was present at the ceremony along with Chinese ceramics masters and senior officials of the city.

Jingdezhen Ceramics College was established in 1958. Its predecessor was China Ceramics School, founded in 1909. It is the only institution of higher education for ceramics in the country. To date, the college has developed from the previous exclusive ceramics major into a multidisciplinary higher education institution that takes ceramics engineering as the main body and also covers literature, art, economics and management. It has a complete academic system and a large number of professional talents. The college has 11 schools and departments comprising 38 majors, which are the Materials Science and Engineering School, Design Art School, Mechatronic Engineering School, Industrial and Business Studies School, information Engineering School, Continuing Education School, Science, Technology and Art school, and Thermal Power Engineering Department, Foreign Languages Department, Social Science Department, and Sport Department. It furnishes post-graduate courses, undergraduate courses, and higher vocational technical education. It recruits overseas students studying for master and bachelor degrees.

Ning made a speech that, he has personally experienced the fast economic development and profound cultural heritages of Ruzhou city after field inspections. With the help of the internship base in Ruzhou, the college will improve the education. The college has the confidence to construct the internship base into a bridge joining theories and practice, and a link connecting Jingdezhen and Ruzhou.
