Ruzhou was actively devoted to tourism planning, propaganda promotion and tourism industry management in 2012. The efforts ensured its domestic tourism market continued to grow. In 2012, total tourists to the area reached 2.47 million, a year-on-year growth of 21 percent. Tourism direct revenue was 152 million yuan ($24.4 million), a year-on-year growth of 23 percent. Year-on-year growth of tourism investments and invited investments was 50 percent. The total annual complaint rate was controlled at under 5 percent, and no major tourism safety accidents occurred.
Henan Television played several advertisements about Ruzhou and Ru porcelain for half a year. Zhengzhou Evening News published five special pages on tourism propaganda articles illustrated with pictures every week. The Ruzhou tourism administration website continued increasing propaganda promotion of Ruzhou using scripts, photographs and videos. Propaganda material about Ruzhou tourism was published on Xinhuanet, Shangdu and Ifeng to further expand its scope.
Ruzhou worked hard on propaganda promotion of scenic spots. They cooperated with China Youth Travel Agency, who advertised for Ruzhou and brought tourist groups to Ruzhou. The efforts intensified Ruzhou propaganda and attracted tourists.
