Beautiful Landscape, Glamorous Dayu - a photography contest aiming to promote Dayu's attractions - concluded with an awards ceremony on Dec 31.

Yang Huixing, deputy head of the standing committee of the Ruzhou municipal people's congress, and Guo Jie, vice-mayor of the city, handed out awards for the winners at the ceremony.

The contest, a joint initiative of the Dayu town Party committee, Dayu government, Ruzhou municipal tourism bureau and the city's photographers' association, was launched in March 2013. Dayu is a town in the city of Ruzhou.

By the end of November, the contest had attracted many submissions from photographers and photography fans. A total of 60 works were selected as award winners from 1,058 entries, including one first-prize winner, three second-prize winners, six third-prize winners and 50 outstanding works.

Guo praised the contest at the ceremony and added that the contest will help enhance Dayu's name.
