The “Charming Ruzhou” Press Photography Contest has officially kicked off. It is sponsored by the publicity department of Ruzhou municipality and co-organized by the Association of Photographers.

The contest is open to all shutterbugs from Ruzhou. Photographers should hand in their works no later than August 21 for the primary selection. A total of 60 works will be chosen for the next round.

The photos for the contest must feature Ruzhou city from May to August 2014 and have a positive and uplifting spirit. Each contestant is limited to five pieces. According to the event’s rules, the photos should have never won any award at the municipal level or above.

The form of the photos should be JPG with a minimum resolution of 300ppi and minimum size of 40×60cm. They must be original and legal. Photography fans can send their works through email to ruzhouwaixuan@163.com, attaching the title of the work, the name of the contestant, an introduction to the work and contact information.

The contest is free for all contestants. The organizer is entitled to use the award winning works for picture album publication, exhibition and any other non-commercial publicity. There is no payment for the picture but the author has the right of authorship.

There will be two first prizes, six second prizes, 12 third prizes and 40 honorable mentions.
