Some ceramic artists from Jingdezhen, Jiangxi province, considered the capital of Chinese porcelain, paid a two-day visit to the city of Ruzhou, Henan province, the home of Ru porcelain, Oct 21- 22, to keep their close relationship alive and exchange ideas and have some activities that might contribute to ceramic arts.
The Yusong Ru Porcelain Co held an interactive activity for artists from both cities to let them demonstrate their various pottery firing techniques, which the artists themselves described as a match between South (Jingdezhen) and North (Ruzhou).
Li Zejing, Jingdezhen porcelain master and president of the Jingdezhen Ceramic Artist Association, and Zhan Shaolin, its vice-president, were the leaders of the southern delegation.
In commenting on the event, Meng Yusong, president of the Ru Porcelain Association, of Ruzhou, said that he really likes these cultural exchanges and that they bring a kind of vitality to the porcelain industry.
