Qianjiang

Located in the hinterland of beautiful and fertile Jianghan Plain, Qianjiang city has an area of 2004 square km and a population of one million. Composed of 6 prefectures, one provincial economic development zone, 4 offices, 10 towns and one field, it boasts Jianghan oil field, one of the ten oil fields in China, and farm group consisting of 16 national farms.

Qianjiang city, one of the sources of Chu culture, features unique water and gardens. It is also the second land of metasequoia which is well-known as "living fossil".

It is abundant in grain, cotton, oil, gas and salt. Qianjiang has an important oil field. Qianjiang has the potential of producing 200 million tons of oil, more than 9000 m3 of natural gas, and 800 billion tons of rock salt.
