Tianmen is a city in Hubei province. As in the northeast is the Tianmen Mountain, hence the name of the city. As early as in the late of barbarism society, there were humans living and working in this land.

The total population was 1,621,000 by 2007, of which urban population was 583,600 accounting for 36% and rural population was 1,037,400 taking up 64%. The gross product of the whole city was 15.148 billion yuan, up 15.5% from the previous year.
