Introduction:
Health wine has been around for thousands of years and is an important part of Chinese medical science. It is recorded in almost all historical Chinese medical books that medicated wine can treat diseases and enhance physique.
Today, high-content functional medicated wines are using bioengineering, extraction and lixiviation along with traditional methods of soaking Chinese medicines in liquor, to extract the active ingredients.
The R&D personnel of Huangshi Jinyang Health Products Factory worked with domestic pharmaceutical experts. After years of effort, they have successfully developed a wholesome and nourishing health wine called Menghan Health Wine.
Type:
The integration of wine and medicine creates a new type of wine – health wine. The key feature of health wine is to add medicinal materials during brewing. Its main purpose is to preserve health and enhance physique. By function, health wine may be classified into qi tonifying wine, blood enriching wine, yin nourishing wine, yang tonifying wine, qi and blood tonifying wine.
People are setting higher requirements on pursuing healthy standards of living and health wine as a new term entering their vocabulary. Despite this recent surge of interest in health wine, it has existed since the ancient times under the name, “medicated wine”.
Medicated wine may achieve the goal of health preservation and disease treatment. The integration of wine and medicine is a big step forward for wine culture. Through observing the invented formulae created by early generations, the later generations have made new achievements and pushed the preparation technology of medicated wine up to a new level. However, one must note that there are no obvious differences between medicated and health wine.
Honors:
Since Menghan Health Wine was put into the market, it has won extensive recognition from consumers due to its superior quality and excellent efficacy. Chinese Menghan Wine was accepted as a, “health food” by the Ministry of Health in 1999. It was also designated as a company under key patent protection of Huangshi by Huangshi Municipal Intellectual Property Office in 2000, rated as a consumer satisfying commodity in Hubei in 2001 and 2002, rated as an “advanced organization” for wine operation in Hubei and an “excellent start-up private company in Hubei” in 2003. Menghan Royal Wine was accepted as a “health food” by the State Food and Drug Administration in 2004. Menghan Health Wine was named a “famous trademark in Hubei” in 2003 and 2005. Menghan nourishing health wine and Jinyang aqua lonicerae foliae nutritional health food were jointly rated as “China consumer trustworthy brands” in 2005. Huangshi Menghan Winery Co., Ltd. was rated as one of the ten double-best enterprises in Hubei in 2006 and the Menghan Brand was rated as “China Top Brand” in 2007.
