Enshi Canyon passenger ropeway set to open in July

The passenger ropeway in Enshi Grand Canyon has started a trial operation, and is expected to be open to tourists in July. Officials with Enshi scenic spot said that the project aims to alleviate traffic congestion and meet the requirements of all tourists, especially the elderly.
Construction of the system started in June last year, with a total investment of 130 million yuan($ 21.19 million). The ropeway is 2284.28 meters long, and the expected one-way transportation volume is 2000 passengers per hour. The system includes 61 cable cars, each with a capacity of 8 people.
The one-way journey can be finished within 7.27 minutes and the maximum running speed is 6M/S.
