More than 100 overseas artists from five countries are set to perform at the Three Gorges waterfall tourist area in Yichang, in central China's Hubei province on Sept 18, as part of the ninth China International Folk Art Festival, hubeitour.gov.cn reported.

The festival will take from Sept 14 to 25, and the artists from Russia, Spain, Australia, the Czech Republic and Mongolia will give performances featuring distinctive national characteristics.

The performances, which are open to the public free of charge, aim to promote folk culture and communication and exchanges between China and the rest of the world.
