Representatives of more than 100 travel agencies from around the country discussed cooperation and the development of local tourism at this year’s meeting of the China youth tourism union organized by Hubei Happy Tour travel agency, which is located in the Fancheng district of Xiangyang city, Hubei province, in the city’s Meiyi Meijia Hotel, from Nov 28 to 29.

The participants focused on the impact the newly promulgated Tourism Law may have on tourism organizations, and they also visited some of the tourist attractions in Xiangyang so as to prepare for the launch of new tour routes.

They said that the cultural and natural tourism resources of Xiangyang, combined with its convenient modern transportation system, guarantee the city a promising future in the tourism industry.

The participants also said that the meeting enabled Fancheng to establish relations with other regions, which could potentially help the district attract more tourists and local officials said they would like to take part in more national activities so as to raise the district’s profile.
