Updated: 2014-08-04

Bancang is near the town of Kaihui’s political and economic center, at the convergence of the Changzhutan economic area and Dongting Lake district, in a good location with convenient transportation, near the Beijing-Hong-Kong-Macao Expressway and National Rd 107. It is 59 kilometers from the city of Changsha and an hour’s drive from the Wuhan-Guangzhou High-speed Railway Station and Changsha’s Huanghua International Airport.

Kaihui has a lovely environment with plenty of tourism resources and is an important place for China’s red tourism business and the only tourist site that focuses on females, as well as Kaihui Memorial Hall, a national AAAA tourist area. The project covers the villages of Gejiashan, Kaiming and Fenglin and will turn the area into a tourism, commerce and trade, culture and education, ecological agriculture, and health care center, on a planned area of 19.2–sq-km.

It includes red tourism, a sports and leisure park in the Zhushan new district, Piaofeng and Shuanghua reservoirs, a commercial street at Guihuashu, a rural commerce and trade center, an organic paddy and vegetable plantation, food processing facilities, and a culture and education park, costing around 2-billion yuan. It is in the preparation phase and work has begun on Jiaoyang Rd, a cultural center, rural and urban residential housing, a culture and education industrial park, waterworks, wastewater treatment, and a pipeline network.

The project has local government support for modern services, and preferential treatment that allows people in non-agricultural work to settle here and streamlined business transaction, with sole proprietorship, joint capital or other methods applicable.
